What's surviving in the mud?

The ponds at the Hunter Wetlands Centre were the driest they had been since 1991, so this prompted us to ask, What survives in the mud? We started an experiment where dry mud was collected from 3 ponds and now we are adding different amounts of water to each sample to see what emerges from the mud.  Plants? Macroinvertebrates?  Who knows?
Follow our experiment with us.
